Tyler Betham-Spencer was selected as a member of the NZ Karate Team taking part in the Oceania Championships held in Auckland from 17 to 20 May 2018

Andrew Tate, Year 11, competed in the GKR Karate Auckland Round 1 Tournament on Sunday 15th April 2018 at the Auckland Netball Centre in St Johns. He competed in both his individual kata and kumite and place 1st - Gold - for both events.  He also competed in Team Kata and his team were placed 2nd with Silver which was the first time that his team has competed together.

Culistofa Petelo and Minia Prescott Performed in the Māngere Arts Centre's performance of 'The Wizard of Otāhuhu' in the Term One holidays.

Simione Petelo Auditioned for the Revolution Tour and is spending two weeks touring the South Island with this group.

Adrian Olie (Year 8) travelled to Tonga to see his first cousin Ft Lutoviko Olie ordained on the 29th June - the ceremony was held at the Pea Catholic Church, Sangato Soane Papitaiso (St John Baptist) as a special celebration of the 175th anniversary of the Catholic faith in Tonga by Cardinal Soane Patita Paini Mafi. Kalala Smith and Sela Lesi (both Year 10) represented Auckland in the Adidas DFY Auckland Touch Rugby Tournament. (July 2017)

Noah Vilisoni-Heather (Year 12) attended the Commonwealth Youth Games 2017 in the Bahamas alongside athletes from over 70 countries.  Noah represented the Cook Islands in Swimming - he swam three events - 50m fly, 100m free and 50m free - achieving two personal bets. (July 2017)

Gabriel Godinet (Year 12) travelled to Canada and the US to take part in the 2017 Hyack International Parade with the NZ Cadet Forces as part of the NZ/Canada Exchange Programme. (June 2017)

Simran Kumar (Year 10) has been selected to represent ITFNZ as a member of the NZ National Team for Taekwon-Do.  Simran will be travelling to Dublin, Ireland to compete for NZ in October at the 2017 ITF World Championships - she will be competing in the Junior Female 1st Dan Patterns and Junior Female 45kg Sparring events. Adam Niziol (Year 10) has won the Auckland Secondary Schools Archery as an Individual Compound Archer.  He placed 1st out of 28 other students from various Auckland Secondary Schools after weeks of competitive shooting. (April 2017)

Jose Miguel Benjamin (Year 12) has just returned from a trip to the Philippines where he participated in the National Basketball Training Centre (NBTC) National Finals at the Mall of Asia Arena.  Jose was playing in the Team NZ Camp David Basketball team.  They did not win in the tournament as they were put in the strongest Division.  It was a great experience for the NZ boys because they fought with the Inter-university champions FEU and Mapua Universities from the most popular UAAP and NCAA leagues respectively.  They also had games against Canada and Australia. Vito Tevaga (Year 13) returned from Australia just over a week ago after attending the U18 SG Ball Parramatta Eels camp (NRL team).  He has been offered a contract to play with them, but is also tossing up between another 4-5 clubs who have also offered him contracts. (March 2017)

Congratulations to Reina Bonaobra (Year 10) and Leon Lobo (Year 12) for being accepted into the Make A Difference Marine Hui in January, 2017.  The five-day camping event is organised by the Auckland City Council and is held on Motutapu Island. The camps programme is themed on the marine environment in the Hauraki Gulf. Reina is attending as a camper and Leon is returning to the camp as a senior leader. Well done to you both! Congratulations to Isabella Gray (Year 8), Dorhys George (Year 9) and Tatijana Mahoni (Year 10) who all travelled to Rotorua for the Champion of Champions Netball competition in September.  Isabella plays for the Mangere Bridge Vipers Junior team, Dorhys plays for the Hawks and Tatijana plays for the Mangere Bridge Vipers College team.  The competition is made up of New Zealand and Australian teams – Isabella’s team placed 4th in her division and Tatijana placed 3rd overall in hers.

Congratulations to Joseph Feau (Year 13) who entered the Solo Vocal heats for the annual Stand Up Stand Out competition and progressed to the semi-finals of the Solo Vocal heats of the Stand Up Stand Out competition! Joseph was one of five finalists chosen from a pool of 21 who will perform at the Grand Finals at the Vodafone Events Centre on Friday 26th August. Mihi nui, Joseph!  Joseph was also interviewed on Flava FM on Tuesday 23rd August - see the link on our Facebook page.

Congratulations to Yoba Ezekiela and Soane Latu (both Year 13’s) who have been selected for the Auckland Under 18 Divisional Rugby Squad.   They've been amazing on the field this season and begin training on Sunday 7th August.
