Pastoral Care and Health Team

The pastoral care team is headed by the Director of Pastoral Care, Mr Jarrod Seaton.


Years 11 - 13 each have a year level Dean and Years 7 - 10 have Deans by whanau group, whose primary role is the welfare of students and communicating with homes, especially when there are major concerns about academic progress or behaviour.


  • Oversee class placement
  • Liaise with subject teachers and tutors
  • Monitor student motivation and achievement
  • Monitor student attendance
  • Assist with subject option choices

Guidance Counsellors

The support systems of the College include specialised help for those not coping with their schooling, who are having relationship problems or are facing personal crises.  The College guidance counsellors are available by appointment to discuss any important personal matter with students and, if desired, with their family members.

Resource Teacher of Learning and Behaviour

A support team from our cluster offers strategies to support students with learning and behavioural needs.

Learning Needs Coordinator

Our Learning Needs Coordinator oversees all special educational needs requirements and is supported in the classrooms  by teacher aides.

Registered Nurse

Our nurse deals with emergency situations in the College and can access unwell students. The  nurse co-ordinates specialised health related programmes, conducts health assessment sessions and writes management plans for students with chronic illnesses.

Careers Advisor

Our advisor is available to meet students by appointment along with family members if desired.  Students have ready access to information on tertiary education and employment.  They may receive assistance with preparing their CV’s, getting ready for job interviews and gaining work experience.
